"I know what you like......"

I Know What You Like! from Ryan Leslie on Vimeo.
This vid is couple weeks old but the beat is so DANGEROUS.....had to throw it up. Enjoy party people!!

*edit* here's a spoof on Ryan Leslie that i find hillarious!! we all know how hype the man get when creating music....lol

New Sh*t: MORE FUEGO FOR DATAZZZ!!!!

Q-Tip (feat. Busta Rhymes, Raekwon & Lil Wayne) - Renaissance Rap (Remix)
(wowserz!! they didn't even include this song on the tracklisting, let alone do a remix!! this is my sh*t right here... i think this is closest thing we'll ever hear to Weezy rappin over a Dilla beat. although he didnt produce it, i know Tip made it in honor of him. i mean, who forget those flute melodies?!? all 4 go in on this heater... this WILL be in my rotation asap. Beleeeedaat!)

Cory Gunz- Rotation Freestyle
(y'all know i heavily co-sign with the kid Gunz. son blacks out over Nore's Rotation instrumental...)

Termanology- Tight Pants Are For Girls
(LOL @ the song title. i'm cool with the fitted joints but them skinnies gots ta go!! Term calls em out over Preem's "Crooklyn.." instrumental.)

Maino (feat. T-Pain) - All The Above (produced by Just Blaze)
(new sh*t from "Mr.Hi Hater". definitely a cookie cutter off of "Live Ya Life", but im still down with it. Just seems like he moving from the dirty samples for a bit and adopting a cleaner synth ish type sound. i aint mad at that!)

New Sh*t: Raekwon "Criminology 09"

I hope this is a sign of good things to come (Cuban Linx 2??!?!??! WE'RE WAITING.) a somewhat updated version of "Criminology". lyrically its on point but i can't get into the new reindition of RZA's masterpiece, a little wayyy too clean. *sidenote* such a classic picture. somewhat disturbing, yet again appropriate....

Raekwon (feat. Ghostface Killah)- "Criminology 09"

one.

Raphael Saadiq- "100 Yard Dash" (video)

Standout track off of his recent LP "The Way See It". If y'aint heard it yet, do yourself a favor and cop that sh*t. Most definitely one of my faves of 08.

New Sh*t : Jay Z "Money Goes"

New fly sh*t from some rapper ... well not so much "new"... according to Just Blaze, it's an American Gangster leftover from the cutting room floor. this sh*t kinda reminds me of 97-98 Hov... dopeness regardless. peep track below....

Jay-Z- "When The Money Goes"

yeah so what. the vid ain't nothing "special" but the song grew on me...

*edit* ok im on my roots reggae sh*t right now... didnt realize they had a video for this. BIGGG CHUNE!!!

Jah Cure - Sticky

If y'aint heard yet.....

You gotta love vintage album covers. some new certified Lyve sh*t i forgot to post this week... GO!!!

Drake (feat. Lil Wayne & Santogold) - Unstoppable (real dope sh*t from the kid Drizzy. sounds like a page from Hov's "Blueprint 3" but fresh nonetheless. oh yeah and for the record, i aint posting that new Weezy joint ...that sh*t is TERRIBLE.)

Focus (feat. Royce 5'9. Phonte & Stat Quo) - Homage To Premier (Tay posted this up on his twitter page earlier this week. judging by the file name, looks like Focus is doing "Homage" LP dedicated to his fave producers. this beat definitely sounds like some classic Preem. all 3 go in on this ridiculous jawn!!)

Teriyaki Boyz (feat. Kanye West) - Teriya-Kings (you know what. i actually fuck with some of the joints Teriyaki Boyz drop. some of it i dont really understand, but the Jap kids be on that fly sh*t. more of that Yeeezy wittiness over Yeeezy production...)

Slaughterhouse (Joell Ortiz, Joe Budden, Royce 5'9 & Crooked Eye) - Move On (Remix)
(8 minutes of lyrics. i usually pass on sh*t like this, but i can't get enough of this group. we need an album for real tho...saigon dont want it with the Slaughterhouse!!!!)

one hunnid.

oh yeah...and uhhh... my guilty pleasure for the moment.

Keri Hilson -Control Me (Rihanna Demo)
(yeah thats right. i like this song. however it's a demo for Rihanna to f*ck up on an upcoming single this year. Keri reminds me of a pop "Santogold" that can actually sing... expect this to be a hit soon enough...well... for Rihanna. *sidenote* i really just wanted to post the pic. im sooooooo down Ms. Hilson. FUEGO!!)

Saigon VS. Joe Budden

ok, i dont know exactly how this sh*t started and honestly, i really don't care. i'm not one to promote "beef" or anything negative to that nature, but ain't nothing like a real battle with real mc's. i listened to all 3 songs and i think ima go with Joey on this. dude was built for this type of sh*t. Saigiddy just came with some bullsh*t bout "bad breath" and how Joe's son is "gay". everything Budden stated are true facts and events... he didnt rely on made up fiction. and on a previous joint with his group Slaughterhouse (Joey, Royce, Joell, & Crooked Eye, he stated "There's ain't shit you can do to me that I ain't thought about doing to myself". like how do you respond to a mc with that motive?? Sai better step the f*ck up or get Just Blaze to do ridiculous joint for the next round.

here are the rounds in order. LISTENNNNNNNNN!!!! (shout out to Dot for the links)

Joe Budden - Letter to Saigon

Saigon - Underachiever ft. Prodigy

Joe Budden - Pain in his Life

one hunnid!!

****UPDATE****

so yeah, saigon responded back with "Pushin Buddens" over "Protect Ya Neck" (great inst. selection BTW!!). its actually a dope joint but im still rolling with ya boy Joey. and JUST when i thought sh*t was getting deeper, the beef has been squashed.
DAMNIT. the battle was gettin iller too. bah well....

"and another one...one..one..." RARE B.I.G and Dilla!!!!

Thats right!! another Biggie post, but this time with another late great, Jay Dee aka J Dilla!! watch the videos below for the full run down on how these 2 got together in the studio with Busta Rhymes. Dilla breaks down the full story...

and now, the final product!! which was never released, but the vocals however, were used on the Born Again LP entitled "Dangerous MC's". can you believe Nas was going to jump on this?!?!? WOW. peep the track for a piece of HISTORY.

Busta Rhymes (feat. Notorious B.I.G & Labba) "Modern Day Gangstaz" Produced by Jay Dee aka J Dilla

RIP to the G.O.A.T.'s!!!!!

keepin it one hunnid.

"...deep like the mind of Farakhan, a muthaf*ckin RAP PHENOMENON!!"

Although i've been frontin' to everyone like i don't wanna see "Notorious", seeing them trailers and all that press got me missing my man B.I. for real tho. i just didn't want to follow the hype that got everybody rushing them theater doors last night but, i will see it soon. belllleeedat!! the only thing i'm kinda scared of is the film being wack, and to all my film critics, you KNOW how "rap" movies end up being portrayed on the big screen. i really just don't want my man's portrayal to be tarnished. i've been Biggie fan from the jump and i may catch slack from some but ... BIGGIE>2pac. but that's just me. i love Pac but i was more of a fan of MC'ing than the poetry he was known for. and to those that know me personally, i didn't rock the Yankee fitted for 14 years straight for no reason. Amongst the whole coastal rivalry (which was STUPID, but we paid the price dearly), i was riding with the East. East Coast was NY. NY was BIGGIE. He carried the city on his shoulders through his entire career, and he brought back the mecca of this rap sh*t to the forefront. '92- '98 was pretty much the best era in hip hop (once again, MY opinion), and B.I. ran about 3/4 of that sh*t. UNBELIEVABLE. RIP to my man's Frank White. we miss you and you are, hands down...the G.O.A.T.

In memory of Christopher Wallace, i added some rare footage below for your viewing pleasure.

(Biggie Smalls @ 17 on the corner of Fulton. The infamous freestyle footage that got him his deal.)

(Another freestyle session of the good ol' days when Pac & B.I. rolled tight. CLASSIC. what a damn shame. RIP to my mans Pac!!)

(hahah, dope ass St. Ide's commercial featuring the man himself. i remember they had maaad promo back then with nuff rappers vouching. because ALL rappers LOVE guzzling 40's, right? lol)

(love this clip, Nas & BIG freestyling on stage chanting "the Goodfellas"...i swear i thought they were make a group together!!!)

(performing "Get Money" with Jay-Z acting as hypeman...watch the dance!!)

(this footage looks like it was later in BIG's career, judging by the suit and top hat. here he performs "The What" with Meth)

RIP to the legend!!!

Don't Sleep: Ryan Leslie in the studio

KID CUDI & RYAN LESLIE

I can't even front tho, i'm HEAVY into R&B. so anytime an ill artist jumps on scene, best believe i'm clocking. I've been following R-Les's work a minute now. At first i knew more about his production (just like Yeezy) with bad boy, but then I realized he writes & sangs as well. "Diamond Girl" was crazy. although i'm not too fond with the artists he promotes and makes music for (uggh. CASSIE. no.) but his solo joints are FIRE. above is a track he made for Kid Cudi (GOOD MUSIC WHAADUP!). you can check out his method of madness when creating tracks on his youtube channel RyanLeslieTV. It's real ill the way he comes up with tracks... make sure you peep that out. below i added some of my favorite vids he posted.

"I Gets Money" (F******CK, i want that pocket horn... that sh*t is crazy)

"Sometimes" (F*ck a Cassie. dude shoulda recorded the song for himself... crazy joint by the way)

"Taste 4 Your Love" (reminds me of some Dilla sh*t...super swag type iddish.)

Curtis- "Shut Ya Bloodclot Mouth" (produced by DJ PREMIER)

So it looks like Fif heard the Primo interview with Rosenberg, 'bout how he rejected this beat for "Before I Self Destruct". so by popular demand from the critics, he decided to take the beat outta bag and rock it. Personally, i think the joint is dangerous, but it woulda been THAT SH*T if he finished it with Preem. i could only imagine the madness... dope intro, cuts & scratches, Curtis better smarten up and get this on it!!! peep that sh*t....

Don't Sleep: Teedra Moses "Complex Simplicity"

i freakin' luhhh this girl. her debut "Complex Simplicity" is a certified classic in my book. she's an amazing song writer and has done so for MANY popular acts. her voice is ridiculously mesmerizing and without a doubt, sexy. i'm obsessed and i'm eagerly anticipating her sophmore LP. the "Young Lioness" mixtapes were not enough. i need more. i even went off on a tangent and done a sh*t load of remixes just to keep her music buzzin'. i've been waiting for too long. where are you Teedra?

her debut single "Be Your Girl". damn.

some eye candy for datazzzz.

New Iddish: "I Get It In"

the first single "Get Up"? flopped. his reality show "The Money & The Power? flopped. what next Curtis? get the good ol' doc to hook you up... its only right!! apparently this is the "real" single to his upcoming LP "Before I Self Destruct", and judging by the tracklisting, it WILL be better than that terrible effort he called his last album. i was getting sick of Fif, but i actually fucked with most of albums. hate it or love it, but Curtis knows how to pick good beats and make good songs. this jawn right here is pretty f*ckin' dope. i always loved how well Dre and Fif worked together, i just wish we can get a full project. "I Get It In" is certified banger, i can hear it blaring in the clubs right now.... classic Dre. hear it for yaself...

Don't Sleep : Holly Weerd "Electricity Showroom"

If y'all paid attention to the audio posts, y'all might've caught the joint "Weerdo (9th Wonder Remix)" in the singles section. Hollyweerd's been gettin maaaaaaaad play in the whip as of lately. they hail straight outta Atlanta, Georgia and their style ain't on that typical trap/crunk music. you can hear the influence for sure but along with that steez, is that electro/new wave type iddish. i f*ckin love that sh*t!! what i like most about these cats is that they know how to have fun and it definitely shows in the music. sure, they aint the most prolific rappers but they ain't aiming for that. its all about 'vibe'. which is why i loved Slum Vill so much when they first dropped Fantastic Vol.1. so yeah, i got a hold of the mixtape on their myspace, and its really dope. mad versatility and realllly entertaining. another ill moment was the "Dilla phone call" interlude, don't know where that came from but it's definitely a nod to the late great. don't SLEEP and take a listen. (click pic below for link)

oh yeah and shout out to my dude AEON for making the tracklist, he did a remix to "Member's Only" (i got hit up with a remix opportunity as well so expect a Lyve/Hollyweerd collab soon!). GODDNESS FAM UP!!!! 09 grind!!!

EARLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy New Year muhfugguhz!!!! let's start this sh*t off proper... early!! the last quad of '08 was sooo consistent with good music, especially December, where Freeway started a reallly dope campaign by dropping a song every day. The "Month Of Madness" series was just straight bonkers. now watch everybody else start jumpin on that bandwagon. and yes, i could've posted each song as the month flew by but lets face it... i'm the laziest hardworker you'll ever meet. so this right here is entire collection in a zip. its not even a mixtape and this sh*t plays out like an album! so do yourself a favor and get to clickin'... Philly stand up. BLAOW!

MONTH OF MADNESS

BTW Termanology's tribute to Dilla " If Heaven Was A Mile Away" dropped yesterday. there's a few bangers here and there, but ST. Da Quad ruin the entire project. Notable joints are "Say It", "Pay Jay" (both previously posted) and "Barz 4 The Stars". i wasn't really impressed but you can be the judge of that. one mo' gin... RIP to the legend. Dilla 4 ever.
