Although i've been frontin' to everyone like i don't wanna see "Notorious", seeing them trailers and all that press got me missing my man B.I. for real tho. i just didn't want to follow the hype that got everybody rushing them theater doors last night but, i will see it soon. belllleeedat!! the only thing i'm kinda scared of is the film being wack, and to all my film critics, you KNOW how "rap" movies end up being portrayed on the big screen. i really just don't want my man's portrayal to be tarnished. i've been Biggie fan from the jump and i may catch slack from some but ... BIGGIE>2pac. but that's just me. i love Pac but i was more of a fan of MC'ing than the poetry he was known for. and to those that know me personally, i didn't rock the Yankee fitted for 14 years straight for no reason. Amongst the whole coastal rivalry (which was STUPID, but we paid the price dearly), i was riding with the East. East Coast was NY. NY was BIGGIE. He carried the city on his shoulders through his entire career, and he brought back the mecca of this rap sh*t to the forefront. '92- '98 was pretty much the best era in hip hop (once again, MY opinion), and B.I. ran about 3/4 of that sh*t. UNBELIEVABLE. RIP to my man's Frank White. we miss you and you are, hands down...the G.O.A.T.
In memory of Christopher Wallace, i added some rare footage below for your viewing pleasure.
(Biggie Smalls @ 17 on the corner of Fulton. The infamous freestyle footage that got him his deal.)
(Another freestyle session of the good ol' days when Pac & B.I. rolled tight. CLASSIC. what a damn shame. RIP to my mans Pac!!)
(hahah, dope ass St. Ide's commercial featuring the man himself. i remember they had maaad promo back then with nuff rappers vouching. because ALL rappers LOVE guzzling 40's, right? lol)
(love this clip, Nas & BIG freestyling on stage chanting "the Goodfellas"...i swear i thought they were make a group together!!!)
(performing "Get Money" with Jay-Z acting as hypeman...watch the dance!!)
(this footage looks like it was later in BIG's career, judging by the suit and top hat. here he performs "The What" with Meth)
RIP to the legend!!!
